Primus Carmenere has dark chocolate, plum and black pepper flavors. It is distinctively smooth and velvety with a long finish.

The grapes are hand-picked, double sorted, fermented and left on the skins after fermentation to extract deep color and rich flavors. The best lots of the vintage are selected, married to blend harmoniously and aged in French and American oak for a minimum of 12 months.

Carmenere was once a part of many Bordeaux blends and was transplanted to Chile in the 1800s. Today, Chile is one of the only countries to produce Carmenere, a late-ripening grape with deep color and a rich, soft texture.

Food pairing: Steak, pork, chicken, pastas with a meat-based sauce, grilled meat and food with spice.
